Early Intervention Services for Children Ages Birth to 3 (Part C Services)
Montana Milestones – No Cost to Families
Montana Milestones helps families with young children (birth to age 3) who may have developmental delays or disabilities. We offer early intervention services at no cost to families—there are no income requirements to qualify.
Services take place in your child’s natural environment—like your home, daycare, or other familiar places. A team of caring professionals, including Family Support Specialists and Therapists, work with you to:

Understand your child’s development

Set goals for learning and growth

Provide support, therapy, and education

Help your child reach important developmental milestones
Who qualifies for services?
Montana Milestones is available to families across the state and is managed by the Montana Developmental Disabilities Program. Here’s how to get started:

Make a Referral
Anyone who has concerns about a child’s development can make a referral—with the parent or caregiver’s permission. This could be a:-
Parent or grandparent

Doctor or nurse
-
Daycare provider
-
Hospital staff
-
Family friend
-

Get an Evaluation
A team will work with your family to do a full evaluation of your child’s development. They’ll look at how your child is doing in areas like:-
Thinking and learning

Moving and physical skills
-
Talking and understanding
-
Social and emotional development
-
Daily activities like eating and dressing

Eligibility
Your child may qualify for services if:-
They have a 25% delay in two developmental areas, or

A 50% delay in one area, or
-
A medical diagnosis that makes a developmental delay likely
